Windows 7's Firewall

Today I want to talk about the new Microsoft OS Windows 7's Firewall.

Microsoft Windows Firewall help make your computer more secure by blocking most programs by defaults, but some programs might require you to allow them to communicate through the firewall.
Now, you may be wondering if you can change that default behavior.
The answer to that is "yes you can" and it's very easy to do actually.

To allow a program communicate through Microsoft Windows 7's Firewall.

1. Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel or In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
2. In the left pane, click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall
3. Click Change settings. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation
4. Select the check box next to the program you want to allow, select the network locations you want to allow communication on, and then click OK.
Done.
That's all it is to it.

Now in some cases when you access your Firewall main page you may find something like this.
Now you probably don't know what to do with this.
This just means that your Computer's firewall is being managed by another programme.
In most cases , it is usually you Antivirus program.
To enable your firewall in these conditions , Go in to your antivirus program for example (Norton), look for the network settings and then you should find in there the appropriate settings for that..
I hope that helps and please leave your comments and thoughts about this article.
